"What I find a huge advantage of this method is the speed with which it works. In one day my prosthesis was ready and I could walk with it. I live on Vlieland and have to travel quite a bit to visit the instrument workshop. It is therefore wonderful if those visits are limited and you can walk out the door in 1 day with a new prosthesis that fits well."

A few years after her leg amputation, Eugénie van Huijgevoort competes in adaptive CrossFit competitions. Eugénie was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017. During her treatments, she developed blood clots, which led to the amputation of her left upper leg. "After my amputation, I became less hesitant. That’s why I’m embracing the adventure of the Adaptive CrossFit Games in Texas."

"After my accident, I was looking for something to hold onto. After such a traumatic event, you’re often not mentally strong. Fortunately, I came out of it well.
