Postoperative cranial helmets
After cranial surgery in an infant, a postoperative cranial remolding helmet, also known as a post-op helmet, can be used to guide the shape and growth of the head in a controlled way. At Protec, we use the Talee postoperative helmet. This helmet is specifically designed for infants who have undergone surgery for craniosynostosis or another cranial shape abnormality.
When is a postoperative helmet useful?
Treatment with a postoperative helmet always starts after surgery and is carried out in close coordination with the hospital. Would you like more information or to find out whether your baby is eligible for a Talee postoperative helmet? Please contact the hospital or reach out to us directly to discuss the available options.

What does a postoperative helmet do?
A postoperative helmet serves several important functions:
- Guiding the growth of the skull after surgery
- Protecting the operated area during the initial recovery period
The helmet also helps the head develop as evenly and symmetrically as possible. The Talee postoperative helmet is specifically designed to support this growth and shaping in the best possible way.
Collaboration with referring specialists
Postoperative helmet treatment is carried out in close collaboration with hospitals and medical specialists. The helmet therapy itself is provided by Rijndam Orthopedietechniek.
